RESURRECTING A RUCKUS WITH JEFFSTAPLE

Our friends at Cycle World magazine wanted help reaching a younger demographic of potential riders. Meanwhile, our buddy jeffstaple, a designer and creative entrepreneur, had an old Honda Ruckus scooter that he had imported from Japan that was basically kaput.

So, over the course a year, we put together a collaboration between Cycle World, jeff and Honda Powersports to completely rebuild and customize jeff’s bike from the ground up. We shipped the scooter to LA, documented the process from design to fabrication and then flew to New York where the finished scooter was unveiled at an event at jeff’s retail store Reed Space.

As a kicker, Alpinestars made exclusive custom designed leather jackets to commemorate the project.

In the end, jeff got a completely custom, revamped bike and Cycle World got exposure to an all new audience.

Strategy and video production by us. Executive produced by Garrett Kai for Cycle World magazine. Creative direction by jeffstaple. Bike build by Ming of Standard Functions. Project management by John Pangilinan. Custom leather riding jackets by Alpinestars. In collaboration with Honda Powersports.
